Section 1

General FAQ

Q1. What is GPT Prompt Tester used for?

GPT Prompt Tester is not just a simple execution tool. It is a desktop application designed to experiment, compare, and manage prompts. You can systematically compare models, options, and prompt variations, and build a structured library of results over time.

Q2. Is this a web service? Where is my data stored?

GPT Prompt Tester is a local desktop application. Prompts, execution history, templates, Writing data, and Image Maker results are primarily stored locally on your computer.

Q3. Do I need an OpenAI account?

Yes. GPT Prompt Tester uses your OpenAI API key to send requests. Therefore, an OpenAI API key is required to use Playground, Writing, and Image Maker features.

Section 2

Writing FAQ

Q4. How does the Writing workflow work?

The Writing workflow typically follows this process: Topic → Title suggestions → Writing style → Draft generation/editing → WordPress publishing.

Q5. What if I don’t like the suggested titles?

You can click [Generate Again] to receive new title suggestions, or select [Edit manually] to modify the title yourself.

Q6. Can I lose my writing progress?

Writing drafts are automatically saved. You can reopen them from the Writing history. However, the Free version has a storage limit, so older drafts may be automatically removed.

Q7. Is “Rewrite selection” available to everyone?

No. Rewrite Selection is a Pro-only feature. Free users will see the option but cannot execute it.

Q8. WordPress publishing is not working.

First check that your WordPress connection settings (site URL and account credentials) are configured correctly. Missing publishing settings such as category, visibility, or slug may also trigger warnings before publishing.

Section 3

Image Maker FAQ

Q9. The Generate button is disabled.

The [Generate] button becomes active only when all required inputs for the selected theme are filled. Required fields are marked with the Required label.

Q10. What is the difference between the themes?

  • Image Remix – Transform an existing image into a new style
  • Custom Image – Generate a new image from a prompt
  • Section Image – Generate images designed for blog sections
  • Abstract Background – Generate abstract backgrounds or visual textures

Q11. Where are generated images saved?

Images are saved locally in the folder defined by the Save Path setting. You can open the folder or the file directly from the Gallery detail view.

Q12. Can Free users use style presets?

Some style presets are marked as PRO. Free users can view preview thumbnails, but cannot view full preset details or use them in generation.

Q13. Can I create my own style presets?

Yes. Using Add My Preset, you can save your own style presets locally inside the app.

Section 4

Cost & Billing FAQ

Q14. Does Pro include OpenAI usage costs?

No. Pro license fees and OpenAI API costs are separate. GPT Prompt Tester sends requests through your OpenAI account, and token usage is billed directly by OpenAI.

Q15. Why is the estimated cost different from the actual bill?

  • Differences in OpenAI token calculation
  • System/tool/reasoning tokens included
  • Currency conversion or rounding differences

The dashboard provides estimated values. The final billing amount should be verified in the OpenAI dashboard.

Q16. Do Writing and Image Maker usage appear in the Usage Dashboard?

Yes. API calls from Playground, Writing, and Image Maker are all included in the Usage Dashboard analysis.

Section 5

Pro & License FAQ

Q17. Will my data remain when upgrading from Free to Pro?

Yes. Your existing history and settings remain unchanged. Pro features are simply unlocked.

Q18. Pro features suddenly became disabled.

Please check the following:

  • License expiration status
  • Internet connection
  • License being used on another device

Q19. Where are the biggest differences between Free and Pro?

  • Multi-panel Playground
  • Writing history and rewrite tools
  • Image Maker concurrency and storage limits
  • Advanced history management and backups
Section 6

Execution / Response Issues

The Run button produces no response.

  • Check that the OpenAI API key is correctly configured
  • Verify your network connection
  • Web Search or Reasoning tools may increase latency

Responses are much slower than usual.

  • Using large models (GPT-4 / GPT-5 series)
  • Web Search or Reasoning enabled
  • Very long output tokens
  • High-quality Image Maker settings
Section 7

Usage Dashboard Issues

No usage data is displayed.

  • Check that executions exist in the selected period
  • Verify filters (source / model / tool / project)

The cumulative graph does not appear for today.

Cumulative graphs require a multi-day range. If only one day is selected, the graph will not appear. (This is normal behavior.)

Section 8

License / Activation Issues

License activation failed.

  • Check your internet connection
  • Ensure system date/time synchronization
  • Verify firewall or security software restrictions

Can Microsoft Store subscribers use Pro features?

Yes. If the app version and subscription status are properly recognized, Microsoft Store subscribers can access Pro features.

Section 9

History / Data Issues

Some history entries seem to be missing.

The Free version has a storage limit, and older entries may be automatically cleaned up. Pro allows larger history storage.

I changed my PC and my data is gone.

Execution history, templates, writing drafts, and Image Maker records are stored locally. If they were not exported from the previous PC, they cannot be automatically transferred.

Image Maker cannot generate new results.

This can happen if the storage limit for your plan is reached. Delete older results or upgrade to Pro to store more items.
