GPT Prompt Tester v0.8.9 Update – GPT-5.4 Model, Streaming Responses, and Eval Enhancements

This is GPT Prompt Tester.

The v0.8.9 update has passed Microsoft Store review and is now officially released.
This update includes support for the latest GPT model, improvements to Playground response handling, expanded Eval features, and Microsoft Store subscription support.

The main updates in this release are as follows.

1. GPT-5.4 Model Added and Effort Options Updated

You can now select and test the latest GPT-5.4 model in the Playground.

With model options such as Effort and Verbosity, you can run a wider range of prompt experiments and fine-tune your testing workflow.

2. Streaming Response Support in GPT Playground

The response handling in Playground has been improved with streaming output.

  • Responses appear as they are generated
  • Improved perceived response speed
  • More efficient prompt testing and experimentation

3. Eval / Improve Request Settings Added

You can now configure separate model settings for Eval and Improve requests.

New configuration options include:

  • Selecting the model used for Eval analysis
  • Choosing whether to include results in Improve requests
  • Automatic navigation to Improve after evaluation

In addition, a “Re-analyze” option has been added to Eval results for easier re-execution.


4. Eval Usage Tracking in the Usage Dashboard

Eval / Improve requests are now included in the Usage Dashboard analytics.

You can monitor:

  • Request count
  • Token usage
  • Cost
  • Performance (latency)

alongside existing Playground usage for integrated analysis.

5. Image Maker Stability Improvements

Internal improvements have been made to Image Maker to enhance reliability.

These updates include:

  • Improved image generation stability
  • Reduced processing errors
  • Overall improvements to the user experience
