GPT Prompt Tester v0.9.9 Update — Tray Mode, Single Instance Execution, and Settings Refinement

Hello,
This is GPT Prompt Tester.

In the v0.9.9 update,
we focused on refining the app’s core behavior and settings flow,
while addressing issues that users experienced during actual use.

Rather than introducing major new features,
this update is about making the app more stable and more natural to use.

In particular, the following improvements have been made:

  • Added option to choose window close behavior (Exit / Hide to tray)
  • Prevented duplicate app execution
  • Improved settings structure (Language Settings → General Settings)
  • Fixed issue where Eval results were duplicated during history restoration

Added window close behavior option and integrated into General Settings

1️⃣ Window Close Behavior Option

In this update,
you can now choose how the app behaves when the window is closed.

Previously, closing the window would always exit the app.
Now, you can choose between the following two options:

  • Exit App
  • Hide to Tray

When “Hide to Tray” is selected,
the app continues running in the background instead of closing,
and can be reopened anytime from the system tray icon.

👉 This helps prevent accidental app closure and allows for a more seamless workflow.

2️⃣ Duplicate Execution Prevention

Previously, launching the app multiple times
would open multiple windows.

This has now been improved so that
the app runs as a single instance.

If the app is already running and launched again,
the existing window will be restored and brought to the front.

👉 This reduces unnecessary duplicate windows and improves overall stability.

3️⃣ Settings Structure Improvement (General Settings)

The previous “Language Settings” menu
has been reorganized into “General Settings.”

You can now manage the following in one place:

  • App language
  • Prompt language
  • Window close behavior

Instead of being just a language setting,
it is now structured to manage the app’s core behavior.

Additionally, an issue where some UI elements did not reflect language changes
has also been resolved.

👉 The overall settings flow is now more intuitive and consistent.

🛠 Improvements and Stability

  • Improved stability of tray behavior and window close handling
  • Fixed UI elements not updating correctly after language changes
  • Resolved duplication of Eval results during history restoration

About This Update

This v0.9.9 update is less about adding new features,
and more about making the app fundamentally more stable and natural to use.

By refining frequently used areas such as
window behavior, tray handling, and settings structure,
you should start to feel small but meaningful improvements in everyday use.

Going forward, GPT Prompt Tester will continue to improve
not only by adding new features,
but also by making the overall user experience smoother and more efficient.

Thank you.
